Adani Cement Sets World Record With 54-Hour Continuous Concrete Pour at Umiya Dham Temple Foundation

Adani Cement and PSP Infra Set World Record with Largest Religious Temple Raft Foundation at Umiya Dham
Ahmedabad, September 18, 2025: In a monumental achievement that blends engineering excellence with spiritual significance, Adani Cement, in collaboration with its Group associate PSP Infra, has successfully completed the world’s largest religious temple raft foundation casting at Umiya Dham, Jaspur near Ahmedabad.
The foundation will support the 504-feet-tall Jagat Janani Maa Umiya Temple, envisioned as the world’s tallest temple and the spiritual nucleus of a sprawling 60-acre social and cultural campus. Measuring 450 ft x 400 ft x 8 ft, the massive raft foundation will anchor 1,551 Dharma Stambhs (pillars of faith), marking a new global benchmark in both scale and sustainability.
54 Hours of Uninterrupted Pouring
The feat was accomplished through an uninterrupted 54-hour concrete pour, deploying 24,100 cubic metres of ECOMaxX M45 grade low-carbon concrete—a proprietary sustainable mix developed by Adani Cement.
The operation mobilised:
- 26 strategically located Ready-Mix Concrete (RMX) plants
- 285+ synchronised transit mixers
- 3,600 tonnes of high-performance cement
- 600+ skilled workers and technical experts working in shifts
To ensure durability and strength, engineers meticulously managed temperature control, mix consistency, and logistics throughout the casting, preventing cold joints and minimising thermal stress.
Sustainable Innovation at Scale
At the heart of the record-breaking operation was ECOMaxX concrete, engineered with 66% Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM), resulting in a 60% reduction in carbon footprint compared to conventional mixes.
Adani Cement’s proprietary Coolcrete formulation maintained placement temperatures below 28°C, reducing thermal stress and ensuring structural integrity. Thermocouples embedded within the raft continue to provide real-time monitoring of temperature and durability, reinforcing the commitment to long-term resilience.
Voices from Leadership
Mr. Vinod Bahety, CEO – Cement Business, Adani Group, described the project as a symbol of faith meeting innovation:
“Umiya Dham is set to become an iconic spiritual landmark, representing an investment of nearly ₹2,000 crore. This project is not just about setting world records—it embodies the quality, scale, speed, and purpose that define Adani Cement. The successful raft casting at Umiya Dham reflects our Chairman’s belief that engineering feats are not merely technical achievements, but bridges between devotion and modern infrastructure. With innovation, sustainability, and community spirit at the core, we are creating a legacy that will endure for generations.”
Mr. R.P. Patel, President of Vishv Umiya Foundation, echoed this sentiment:
“The world-record foundation of Jagat Janani Maa Umiya Temple is a proud moment for India’s cultural and engineering heritage. Adani Cement’s proven expertise in mega-project execution made them the natural partner for this sacred mission.”
A Testament to India’s Engineering and Spiritual Heritage
The foundation-laying event was witnessed by over 1,000 attendees on-site and more than 10,000 viewers online, underlining the cultural and national significance of the milestone.
Once completed, the Jagat Janani Maa Umiya Temple will stand as the world’s tallest temple and a beacon of faith, culture, and sustainability. With an estimated investment of ₹2,000 crore, Umiya Dham will not only serve as a spiritual centre but also as a hub for social, educational, and cultural initiatives.
Adani Cement’s Legacy of Landmark Projects
This achievement adds to Adani Cement’s growing legacy of contributing to India’s most iconic projects. From the World One Tower in Mumbai to the Chenab Railway Bridge in Jammu & Kashmir, the company has consistently demonstrated its ability to deliver engineering marvels. With the Umiya Dham Temple, Adani Cement now extends this expertise to the realm of spiritual infrastructure.
A New Global Benchmark
The completion of the Umiya Dham raft foundation not only secures a world record in religious temple construction but also showcases India’s capacity to lead in sustainable engineering at a monumental scale.
By marrying devotion with innovation, Adani Cement has redefined what is possible in infrastructure—creating a foundation that is not only built to last, but also designed to inspire.
